I'm Alive.

So I haven't posted anything for a while ooops, here's what I've been up to:

The Pier

This is a finger painting on canvas with acrylic paints. I painted it for the staff room at school, I'm a teaching assistant.

Seven Deadly Sins - Gap Fillers

I've been working on Mitch's Seven Deadly Sins sleeve for over 4 years and these are the final designs. It's looking cool, I can't wait to see his arm completed.

Wings

Another design for Mark, the last one I did him was 'Music and Games'. This design is to go on his chest, ouch. Wings are a classic design and I think these ones look pretty darn badass.

Thanks for dropping by!

Sailor Purdy.

Tiger - 'Forget-Me-Not'

This is Helen's 2nd tattoo design, her 1st can be viewed here. This is a repaint of Sailor Jerry's classic 'Tiger' painting, with added Forget-Me-Not flowers. I tidied up the lines and painted it as bright as possible because I wanted it to look pretty and feminine. I loved designing this and I am becoming more and more obsessed with the legend SJ. I'm planning on repainting more of his popular animal designs... when I get the time.

'Tiger' - Sailor Jerry's Original

Until next time, keep things Traditional!

Geometry.

Mandala No1

I've been getting into Thomas Hooper in a big, big way. His tattoos and artwork blow my dome. So, on my facebook page I declared my love for T.H and ask my 'likers' if any of them wanted a tattoo or piece of art inspired by his work.

The lovely Alice Thickett replied with a huge YES. She had a few ideas based around geometric flowers, but luckily for me, she said I had free reign. This is the outcome, I am so happy with it and so is A.T.

Alice has asked me to design artwork to sell online for a shop in Castle Donington, East Midlands, UK... anyway it's happening, so look out for more work like this.

So excitables!

Listen And Play.

Music and Games

My regular 'customer' Mark asked me to design him a third tattoo for the underside of his forearm, based around music and cards. He really likes the design I did for Martha, but wanted it to look masculine and bold. At first I was a little worried about designing this because of its similarities, yet I think I've managed to create a fresh and exciting piece for him. It's pretty simple and it didn't take too long, but the jobs done and Mark and I are both pleased.

Mark wants me to design him yet another tattoo in the coming months, so if you're liking what you're seeing, keep those eyes glued to your screen!

Noel.

Frozen Christmas

This flash sheet was inspired by David Attenborough's incredible Frozen Planet TV Series, and of course the festive season surrounding us at this very moment. I was torn between drawing this polar bear and cub over an emperor penguin and chick; I love penguins but these dudes above look fitting in my Christmas display. I'm sure I'll get the chance to draw an emperor penguin one of these days.

I did this in Crayola and Staedtler felt tip pens, and a black gel pen. I haven't really used felt tips for ages (I'd say the 90's) and it was fun, fun, fun. I'm gonna do a lot more pictures in felt tips so watch this space.

Merry Christmas everyone! x

D.O.B.

16th Oct '09

Oooo, 'this looks familiar' I here you say! Well head on over to a previous post of mine titled Mark's Child, and all will be explained. Mark wanted this version to almost mirror the other design on the inside of his opposite arm, but first a few changes needed to be made. I like how this design is soft with gentle angel wings and the red touch's really give this tattoo a peaceful look.

I did the lettering completely by hand this time around because:

a)numbers were not included in the font that I downloaded
b)I wanted to see if I could do a decent job of lettering.

I'm real happy with it anyway and I would love more opportunities to do lettering!

Laziness.

Sloth

The 7th and final deadly sin. The punishment in hell for being slothful, is to be thrown into a pit of snakes. I don't really see any connection between laziness and serpents, but it makes for a badass tattoo design. I think people who sit on their backside all day should be punished with slave labour for eternity. Too far? So, next for my boy Mitch is a flash sheet of 'fill-ins' including bugs, beasties and undergrowth.

Deadly!
